Help guide to install an eSIM on an Android Device

18 April 2023

This article explains how to install an eSIM on Android devices. It was written on a Samsung Galaxy S21 running Android 13, the most recent version of Android OS at the time.

Both "install using a QR code" and "manual install" are available as installation choices in this help document.

The following three items must be present before you can begin the installation:

  • an effective 4G or Wifi connection with a strong internet connection is preferred

  • An eSIM-compatible device - If unsure, check out this list of suitable devices

  • The device is not network-locked to a certain provider. If you are unsure, an article explaining how to detect the "locked / unlocked" status has been supplied.

After installation, don't forget to enable "Data Roaming"!
